Program/Fundraising Highlights:

Held our first-ever SOMA Football &
Cheerleading State Games – including Unified 5-on-5
Flag Football, Football Skills, and Cheerleading Skills
& Demo – at the Gillette Stadium in
Foxborough, MA on Sun. Nov. 1. A truly phenomenal day in
the history of SOMA, greatly
enjoyed by all who participated! Special thanks to the
New England Patriots, New England Patriots Charitable
Foundation and King Philip Youth Football League led by
Tom Barnett

Added new sponsor CVS Caremark, who
donated $2,000 for the SOMA Football &
Cheerleading State Games. King Philip Youth Football and
the North Attleboro Fire Department
also donated $1,500 apiece for the event
·
Added global financial services company ING as a
corporate donor, due to the generosity of ING employees
during their annual giving campaign
·
Held annual SOMA South Section Soccer
Assessment Round at North Attleboro High School –
30 Traditional & Unified teams competed and earned the
right to participate in the season-ending SOMA Soccer
State Games at Governor’s Academy in Byfield on Sun.
Nov. 8 – special thanks to John Dempsey

Presented 2nd annual Harwich
School Day Games for 60+ athletes from across Cape
Cod on
Fri. Oct. 23 – thanks to principal Kevin Turner and the
Harwich student peer leaders
·
Held annual SOMA Senior Sports Classic
in N. Falmouth and Bourne on Oct. 16-17 – more
than 200 athletes ages 40 & up competed in racewalking,
bocce, golf skills and horseshoes, the day after the
famous Dinner/Dance at the Sea Crest Hotel – special
thanks to WQRC’s Cheryl Park, Bourne Public Schools, the
Parrot Head Club, and the SOMA Cape Cod Games Management
Team

Held annual SOMA South Section
Equestrian Assessment Round at Briggs Stable in
Hanover – nearly 50 riders from southeastern Mass
competed and earned entry to the season-ending SOMA
Equestrian State Tournament on Oct. 17-18 – special
thanks to Erin Wiggin, Gina Petrino and the Daugherty
Family at Briggs

Jaunt Taunton (Sat. Dec. 5) and 8th
annual Jolly Jaunt Cape Cod
(Sun. Dec. 6) – visit
